    A. A person with a higher income pays more money in taxes.

    A progressive tax's percentage is dependent on what income bracket you are in. So if you are in a higher income bracket (you earn more) then you would pay a bigger percentage than someone in a lower income bracket. That is why it is a "progressive tax", because it gets progressively bigger.
