What brought upon the end of the middle ages and the beginning of the renaissance

By majority of historians the end of the Middle ages is considered to be when the new continent of America was discovered. The discovery of this continent lead to massive changes in the history of our species - and it also lead to massive changes in the way how people lived a the time.
