Buddhism is China's oldest foreign religion. Buddhism has had a long history in China. Buddhism started in India. Gautama Buddha was the founder of Buddhism. He lived from 600 to 400 BC. His rules and teachings was learned and passed down by oral tradition until about the second century BC when a scripture was wrote. The scripture was brought to China. There was Silk road Buddhism, Early Chinese Buddhism, Chama Buddhism were different types. When Gautama was 29 he wanted to know the truth through not eating and stuff. He almost starved himself. The he wanted to solve suffering and death.
