How the soldiers living in the trenches live with the dead

    They lived in terrible conditions. They had limited food supplies and when they did get food it was usually canned. There was a lot of casualties in the trenches for 'Trench Foot'. This was caused because of the weather conditions they were living in i. e mud and rain. There was huge rats running about (the size of cats). This was because they were feeding off dead bodies, as you can imagine this would have effected the soldiers mental health watching rats feed off their friends dead bodies
