Spread of democracy to Latin America and Africa--Wilson believed democracy was the best form of government and the US were the beacons of the information to be successful.

Wilson pushed for self-determination of countries and wanted to end imperial holdings in the world allowing for countries to "choose" democracy and have a voice in their government. He believed the US could aid in the transition and this is why he wanted a League of Nations created after World War I.
