What accounted for the spread of buddhism along the silk roads?

    Silk was desired greatly as it was associated with wealth. It was also associated with Buddhism which lead to a spread of the religion as the trading of silk grew and spread. It was highly popular as it could be purchased by all people and thus made Buddhism accessible to all.
