It was the assassination of Franz Ferdinand and his wife, Sophie, who was the Crown Prince of Austria-Hungary.
He was assassinated by a Serbian nationalist and Austria demanded of Serbia to allow Austria to search for him within Serbia, and when Serbia refused, supported by Russia, the war followed.
