In a classic experiment in photosynthesis performed in 1883 by the german botanist thomas engelmann, he surrounded a filament of algae with oxygen-requiring bacteria. he then exposed the algal strand to the visible-light spectrum along its length. in which wavelengths of light along the algal strand would you expect the bacteria to cluster? explain.     I would expect the bacteria to cluster around the red and blue light spectrum as the algae reflects green. These are the wavelengths that work best for photosynthesis and thus allow the algae to produce more oxygen.
