    Most countries in Africa gained independence and self-governance in the 1950s and 1960s after colonists left and handed instruments of power to the indigenous people marking an end to slavery, exploitation, and freedom,

    However, some governments fell to coups d'etat across the continent with military regimes that accused civilian governments of corruption and incompetence. The military coups have led countries to more turmoil and suffering, i. e., Togo, Ghana, Nigeria, Congo and many more countries.
