If event constituted, means like what led to it - to the tea party then the answer is this:
Colonists, protesting the Tea Act, burned a British ship along with its cargo of tea.

The newfound anger of the colonists towards the then newly passed "Tea Tax" led them to gather in a rebellious manner and masscre a brithish delivery ship full of tea (The Boston Tea Party).
