Why did government once regulate the banking trucking and airline industries?

    Regulation was done to ensure fairness and reduce the monopolistic powers by the ICC. Some industries like the airline were very expensive, and in addition they limited airspace. The realization that govennment should facilitate business but not put much regulation to hinder business was the main idea behind the derugularization.
