Why do you think this type of movement lost steam or prestige with the American people?

Many Americans believed that the moral majority was the Christian-oriented lobbyist group and they did not and would not want any religious beliefs, acts, and opinion to influence the government. This type of movement that will lose steam or prestige with the American people.
