There are so many things a ruler can do for citizens to rebel.
- Be born a female heir to a kingdom.
- Be an illegitimate heir.
- Inherit the throne under less than acceptable circumstances. (Killing previous ruler.)
- Imposing high taxes.
- Taking absolute rule.
- Requiring men and boys to hold arms in military.
- Being a tyrant and unfair ruler.
- Spending all of the country's money.
See the French Revolution. Under King Louis XVI.
