    They are both Replacement Competitors to each other because they are not selling the same product or providing the same service for the same or even different end goal. As opposed to direct and indirect competitors, replacement competitors sell different products but their potential buyer has the means to buy or even do something other than buying the products they are selling. For example, in your question, when the buyer prefers to read a book instead of buying tools for crafting, a competition is made in favor of the book replacing the tools.
