    The middle passage is the name given to the sea route that slaves took in traveling from Africa to the Americas. This middle passage was part of the "triangular trade" route that transported goods and slaves between the Americas, Europe, and Africa. The Fundamental Orders of Connecticut was a governing document that was created by the Connecticut Colony in 1639 which sought to create a government of the Connecticut River Towns. This document is largely regarded as the first constitution in the Western tradition and thus earned Connecticut the nickname of the "Constitution State."
