Why did the georgia legislature offer a $5,000 reward for the capture of william lloyd garrison?

William Lloyd Garrison was the editor of the publication, the Liberator, which called for the abolition of slavery. This was very controversial, and fueled outcry against Garrison in the South. He was considered dangerous and a fanatic, and the Georgia Legislature wanted to put him on trial.
