How did the views of presidents lincoln and johnson on reconstruction differ from the views of the radical republicans?

    The radical republicans wanted to make the southern states have a vote where they would have to officially denounce the confederacy and claim that they never supported it. This would've been humiliating for many people so Lincoln and Johnson decided to go a bit easy on the people and allow them to join the union back easier.
