It is considered to be racist because the its a flag for the confederates and they were against getting rid of slavery and were prejudice against African American.

the rebel flag was used as a sign of rebelion years ago but soon turned to a sign of racism for some, although in my opinion i feel as if the flag isnt racist and was never meant to be.
