    The statement that describes the reception of the former slave Olaudah Equines memoir would be that the book was banned, it sold poorly up until the outbreak of the civil war. In which then the book was a huge success and contributed to the American Abolition movement. But even with the success rates, Southern colonial governors were able to cease the publication after the second edition of it.
