Southern plantation owners in the colonial era could not depend on using indentured servants for labor because there was no reason for them to come to the colonies. there was an uncertain supply of workers. the workers knew they would never be free. the workers would not be able to become property owners.

    I would go with the answer D because so many indentured servants were being hired, there was less and less land to give.
