How and why has wilsonian foreign policy been a more or less important element within u. s. foreign policy over the years? in particular, how did the end of the cold war enhance the status of democracy promotion in u. s. foreign policy?

    The end of the Cold War was marked by the fall of democracy's biggest con-tester, The Soviet Union. This event was viewed as the fall of democracy's rivals and proof that democracy is the superior form of government. This only fueled American promotion of democracy globally.
