The answer is "A". The joint select committee on deficit reduction included 12 members. Six members were from the House of Representatives and six were from the Senate. Three of the members from the House of Representatives were Democrats and three were Republican. The parties were also divided evenly between the Senate members, three were Democrats and three were Republicans.
