The Four Noble Truths of the Buddhist religion are as follows:

    1. All existence is dukkha (dukkha refers to pain, a struggle within life)

    2. The cause for dukkha is "craving" (refers to difficulties within one's life)

    3. The cessation of dukkha comes with the cessation of craving (refers to one's ability to change themselves)

    4. There is a path that leads from dukkha (refers to methods of changing themselves)
