How did the Egyptians view the rising and setting of the sun?

    They believed that the world was standing still and that it is curved. That is why on one side it seems as if the sun is rising and on the other it seems as if the sun is setting. They also believed later when Ra was created that it was related to him and that the sun coming out is his birth. There are many myths regarding this.
