Both Eurylochus and Odysseus were Achean leaders and very smart. However there were very different:
Odysseus was first leader in command, while Eurylochus was second in command to Odysseus. In a situations in which there were soldiers who needed to be rescued, Eurylochus would have rather left them, while Odysseus was the one who went back to save them.
