Why was the assassination of lincoln bad for the south?

    Because at the time before his assassination, Lincoln was in the process of abolishing slavery. He was the only one at his time that wanted to do that so after he had been assassinated, the south had no hope. They had no one in their corner to back them up.

    Because he was about to end slavery and now he was dead so now slavery kept on
