Why did the colonial leaders call the Boston Massacre

Because it was in Boston and the massacre was a big disaster

Although the Boston Massacre sounds a lot worse than it actually was, the colonial leaders knew this but wanted to twist it to get people even more against Britain. If they told the people of America that the redcoats had viciously attacked and killed innocent Americans, then they’d get mad and want to go to war against Britain. So, the colonial leaders called the Boston Massacre what it is today to stir up controversy in order to start a war.
