Why did some americans oppose ending slavery while others wanted to end slavery>?

Maybe because they liked the thought of having slavery because they were too lazy to do their own work so they wanted blacks to do it for them but other people who wanted to end slavery thought that it wasn’t right to treat people that way because we are all equal
