    The tradition was implemented by Sulaiman Khan Karrani in the sixteenth century. It was done out of support for emperor Akbar. Sulaiman ordered for Akbar's name to be mentioned in the Khutbah, which was a traditional prayer held on Fridays. It was an era of peace between the Mughals and the Bengals.
