Why was it important to the Republican Party to break monopolies?

    Monopolies happen when the market has no competition because only one company is providing for the people. An example of this would be our basic utilities like electricity and water. Not every one could produce these needs so only one company regulates it and distribute it to the community.

    The Republican party wants to break monopolies because they don't offer a lot of room for creativity. They are very well secured of their profits because there are no alternatives. Even if they increase their price, people will still buy. However, there will be less improvements and people will get bored and think that what they pay is not worth it.
