Why do you think the writers of the U. S. Constitution drew heavily on the English Bill of Rights when crafting parts of the Constitution?

The Framers of the Constitution grew up in the English legal tradition, they were English colonist after all. The English Bill of rights was one of the most important legal precedents for the struggle against absolute monarchies, as it forced the King to recognize people's rights. Then it inspired the Virginia Declaration of Rights, and Jefferson knew both texts very well. The preamble of the declaration of independence draws heavily on them and it is natural the Constitution does. Besides, the Bill of rights was included in the Constitution after it was ratified. The first ten amendments are the Bill of Rights.
