It is absolutely true. Some of the historians are right in believing that the leading motive for the war of 1812 was the western desire for land expansion. Although there was no clear cut winner in this war, but the US believed that they had defeated the British and won the war. The win was based on the theory that the US was able to show the British that they could defend their own land very easily. There were 22,200 approximate deaths due to the war.
