    The correct answer should be it gave Parliament essential powers independent of the monarchy.

    The parliament didn't have total control and wouldn't have it for years to come. The parliament was always dependent on the monarchy, the act actually made them less dependent. All citizens did not have social equality, what they did get was a right to jury and trial and not being exposed to cruel and unusual punishment.
