How did the way WWI was fought differ on the eastern and western fronts?

    The western front had trench warfare, in world war 2 it was different because the western was fought with the English, winter wasn't as cold as long or as relentless, it just seemed that way, and germans. this did lead to germany knocking out the russians in 1917.
