How did Northerners react to the Fugitive Slave Law? They supported the law fully. They liked it because they could get money for turning in a runaway slave. They thought it was too much work for them. They really didn't care either way. They were against the law because it forced them to support slavery.

    They were against the law because it forced them to support slavery. This act spawned the creation of many abolitionist movements. Uncle Tom's Cabin, the anti-slavery novel, was written during this time.
