    Mao thought that he would get support from peasants for his communist party.

    Explanation:

    In Russia, the communist party was majorly supported by the working class population because the Russian economy was mainly based on industries. Unlike Russia, china was predominantly a agricultural country and the feudal power structure exploited the poor farmers. So Mao beleived that for this movement to be successful, he needed support from the farmers. So he mobilised the peasants a lot and he orgainised a large army of peasants.

    When he came to power, he reorganised the ownership of land. He then transferred the lands to state because the main theme of communism was basically beleiving in centralisation.
