    Explanation:

    The cold war was period of tense relation ship between US and USSR, It lasted from 1947 till 1991. During cold war none of the country tried to engage with each other in indirect manner by backing their allies.

    The capitalist countries that were allied to US through NATO while the communist countries were allied to USSR through Warsaw Pact.

    It was also known as period of two blocks in which the western blocks included the Americas, Israel, Turkey, South Korea and New Zealand etc. While the eastern bloc was called Communist block and included countries like Soviet Union, Ethiopia, Angola, North Korea Vietnam and China.

    The cold war started in 1947 due to belief that governments could be either communist or capitalist. The capitalist countries were afraid that Soviet Union would use force to expand its influence on them.

    It started to de-escalate after 1989 and the collapse of USSR was the end of USSR.
