The Great Depression was considered as the economic hardship period of America from 1929 to 1939. The main cause of Great Depression was more products were produced from the factories and farms. They have not maintained a balance between supply and demand of goods.

As a consequence effect prices fell, factories closed and unemployment was high. The Great Depression was the worst economic slow down in U. S. history. World War II appeared to mark the end of the Great Depression.

Because of the war, more than twelve million Americans were sent into the military, and a similar number were employed in manufacturing arms. This put an end to the unemployment and consumers pending started increasing.
