    There is one key difference to how the two impactful documents differ. The Articles of Confederation was the first successful effort at organizing and mobilizing the thirteen colonies. The Constitution replaced the Articles of Confederation in 1789 that gave a more detailed look on the form of government and mainly focused of checks and balances aka. the three branches of government.
