    Jurisdiction is the authority given to a court or an organization to hear cases and pass judgement.

    Federal Court have jurisdiction over dispute between two states, such cases are usually decided in the supreme Court.

    State Court have jurisdiction over cases such as robberies, traffic offences. etc.

    Both Federal and State courts have jurisdiction over criminal and civil cases.
