- about the ancient egypt
Egyptian civilization developed in northeastern Africa, in a region known as the Fertile Crescent. Formed by diverse peoples, among them the Hamitic, Semitic and Nubian, civilization had its growth strongly linked to water resources provided by the Nile River. With the sedentary human beings, they began to organize themselves into nuclei to develop productive activities. Agricultural activity became part of man's daily life. There was the domestication of animals, the invention of the first plows and the construction of irrigation canals.
Over time, forms of power were structured, hierarchies were established, and the first human communities were formed. In this context came the Egyptian civilization, one of the oldest in the world, which stood out for the form of organization of a strong state, capable of commanding thousands of people. The Egyptians occupied territory bordering the northern Mediterranean Sea; with the Libyan Desert to the west; with the East African Desert to the east; and with the first Nile cataract to the south.

People lived in Pompeii for the same reasons that people live in the area today--it was their home. In ancient times the volcano had not erupted within anyone's memory so the area was considered safe. It is not uncommon to hear talk about how lucky we are to live in this age of scientific and medical advancement where antibiotics and vaccinations keep us living longer, while our poor ancient ancestors were lucky to live past the age of 35. Well this is not quite true. Long Lives in the Ancient Days. The first few humans recorded in the Bible, in particular the Old Testament, lived an exceedingly long number of years. Adam lived to the age of 930 years, his son Seth lived 912, his son Lamech lived 777 years, Lamech's son Noah lived to 950 years, his son Shem lived 600 years. There is a pattern that shows up.
