The African-American are fighting for respect.

    Explanation:

Throughout history African Americans have been battling for the United States, protecting and representing a nation that has deprived them of their basic rights as citizens.

African American military personnel played an important role from the colonial to the Korean War as can be seen by racial segregation and prejudice policies. African-American soldiers started to receive the acknowledgement and equal rights that they rightfully deserve only in the middle of the 20th generation.

The First World War marks the beginning of the 20th generation and the mobilization was registered by hundreds of hundreds of African Americans. Their passion was partially to protect freedom and democracy in Europe as well as to prove their worth for greater freedoms at home.
