Prison reform movements is what it led to particularly.

    Explanation:

Prison reform movements were demonstrated in order to ensure that the inmates of the prison are given a chance to repent for their crimes. But unfortunately many criminals were not treated with just and fair mind.

Incarceration is the act of keeping the offenders confined to the prison so that it offers them a space and time for counseling and when such serious offenders are kept behind bars and offered counseling sessions, their self-esteem is not shattered and it paves way for them to repent.

After the civil war many prison reform organizations were started which took care of the rehabilitation of prisoners and how they are incorporated into the society.
