Mesoamerican civilizations such as the Olmecs, Toltecs, and Aztecs had a pantheon of gods that thew worshiped for their many attributes. Most of them had an interpretation of natural elements as was the case of Aztec Rain God Tlaloc. Or the Feather Serpent God that was known as Quetzalcoatl, who promised to return in the Aztecs prophecies.

    The role the environment played in the evolution of societies in South America was very important because these civilizations honored and respected mother nature for everything it provided. That is why these indigenous people had chants and special dances to ask for rain or show appreciation for the food the had.
