    Answer: Eastern Europe from Western Europe.

    Explanation: Stalin put the wall up so citizens on the eastern side of the wall wouldn't cross over. Quite ironic actually. Even Prime minister of the U. K said "It was like as if a Iron Curtain descended across Europe," (This all happend during the Cold War if you didn't know.)
