Explanation:

Following the end of the War of 1812, a treaty, known as the Rush-Bagot Treaty, took place between the United States and the United Kingdom to limit the naval armaments on the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain. The United States ratified this treaty on 16th April 1818 and Canada confirmed this treaty after the Confederation in 1867. The treaty resulted in settling down the fishing quarrels between the United States and Canada.
