Answer: The war eliminated the balance-of-power diplomacy that allowed groups to maintain some autonomy. Indians saw the removal of the French as a threat to their freedom since they largely fought on the French side. Without consent, French ceded Indian lands to the British. 1763 - Pontiac's Rebellion, in which Indians of the Ohio Vally and Great Lakes revolted against the British from an idea all Indians were a single people and only by working together, they could regain their independence. To prevent further Indian conflict, the British established the Proclamation Line.
