    The correct answer is indirect relief to those that were jobless

    US President Herbert Hoover lost his seat in the 1932 elections. The new president, Franklin D. Roosevelt, established a development policy called the New Deal. The New Deal created jobs immediately. Changes were made to the financial system (banks and money) to prevent the same problems from recurring.
