    The American Independent Party was converted into American party in the year 1969 after the anti-Catholic sentiments raised. The American party people were following protestant religion. Catholics were wide spread and they were headed by the Pope. The anti-Catholic scared that the Catholics would fully take over the United States placing Pope as their head.

    They feared that because of the immigrant population they would lose job opportunities. Hence they were denied jobs in the private organisations. Protestants did not show a liking towards the Catholic people levying taxes for public school. All these aversions finally led to a new party known as the American party.
