    Lincoln uses the rhetorical devices of ethos, logos and pathos in his Gettysburg Address.

    Explanation:

    The line "It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us" describe the speaker's authority on why he as well as the people should take up the task of what our founding fathers have envisioned. It is an example of ethos.

    The line "that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they here gave the last full measure of devotion" describes the logic on why we should take up the task with devotion. It is an example of logos as it provides the logical explanation.

    In the lines "that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain-that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.", Lincoln tries to win over the audience with emotional attributions. It is an example of pathos.
